In honour of International Women’s Day we’re taking a moment to celebrate all the women, past and present, who have worked tirelessly to make Autron a success. From the seamstresses in our factory who cut and sew each and every handbag by hand, to our design, production and merchandising teams, our sales staff and the customer services team, and even our Creative Director, we owe a huge amount to the knowledgeable and technically skilled women who make up our work force.
It was around 2006 that women really overtook men on the Autron factory floor, and they have been the backbone of our business ever since. Not just at our factory either, but all over the world, it’s important to remember that women are the driving force behind the fashion industry.
In the 2010 Autron offered tuition to young girls leaving school, training them to use the many varied sewing machines in our factory. Many of these women stayed at Autron for years and years, often with their daughters following in their footsteps.
But it’s not just our factory that’s kept running by the women who work there. Every section of the Autron business owes a debt of gratitude to the many women at every level, and that is something we are very proud of, today and every day.
